Berriboo •Zina and her Cats

Zina and Her Cats began as a series of paintings about the quiet, charming moments of everyday life. But as I continued painting Zina, Berry, and Marmalad, they gradually became more than characters in individual artworks.

Each new painting added another detail to their lives: a favorite chair, a familiar room, a little habit, or an unexpected encounter. Step by step, these details became part of Berriboo, a fictional world with its own characters, places, traditions, and stories.

The series is my way of exploring how a painting can become a doorway into a larger world, where the viewer is invited not only to look at a character, but to imagine what happened just before the scene and what might happen next.
