UX/UI Design and SaaS Web App development for a US startup

Omni is a startup founded by experienced Discord server managers dedicated to enhancing the user experience. They wanted to build a platform that centralizes and simplifies Discord bot management.

Challenge

Our team aimed to create a platform that would seriously level up the user experience in managing Discord servers.

We needed to develop the right architecture to manage interactions with Discord, as our product focuses on server management.

Omni offers a wide range of features, so we focused on making them seamless and intuitive.

The global aim was to launch a product that not only caters to businesses but also connects diverse communities, like gamers who are into platforms such as Discord.

Solution

Approach

We worked with the client as a technical partner, together making decisions about building functionality, testing the product, and influencing its future appearance.

Discovery

We conducted in-depth UX research, created customer journey maps, and wireframes, and figured out a project work plan.

UX/UI Design

We kept a traditional Discord app style with a dark color scheme some green and purple accents, rounded corners, and a left-side navigation panel.

We also developed layouts and a scalable UI component design system to ensure flexibility and consistency across the platform.

Design system

At the end of this stage, layouts and a scalable design system of UI components were created.

Development

First, we built a comprehensive data model, then customized features and tested them in the environment immediately.

We saw a massive user wave coming, so we considered it during the Backend stage. So we made the system scalable, taking as a basis the approach in a distributed server system.

The main modules — server management, analytics, roles, and initial automation for chat and channel management — were already in place. Also we enhanced visuals and some of the functional bits.

An important component for us is ensuring reliable delivery and uptime of the project. So, we built a seamless update system.

Finally, in four months we had a full MVP, and in the next eight months, we had a comprehensive multifunctional product.

Result

The client now has a product, with a bunch of different solutions for setting up Discord servers, not only for the business community but also for any other, like gaming.

There is a large number of possibilities for customizing the user experience on individual Discord servers.

Now we are in the phase of gathering additional requirements for future improvement.
