AMS AI. AI-native supply chain for hospitals

AMS AI set out to modernise the $1.5T hospital supply chain — replacing manual sourcing, fragmented vendor communication, and spreadsheet-based decisions with AI.
The founding team brought deep healthcare and tech leadership, but needed a focused product vision and a demo-ready experience to prove the concept to hospitals and investors.
We started with the jobs, not the AI. Mapping how hospital teams actually source, restock, and negotiate revealed that the pain wasn't a lack of technology — it was fragmented decisions under time pressure.
Before designing screens, we built early prototypes using OpenAI's Agents SDK to test how AI agents behave in real procurement flows, with real constraints and real urgency.
That reshaped the product direction: instead of automating everything, we bet on AI as decision support. Surface the right information at the right moment. Cut what looks impressive but doesn't reduce time, cost, or risk.
AI-Assisted Product Discovery & Alternatives
Procurement teams often know what they need, but lack the time and visibility to understand whether better-priced or equivalent alternatives exist. We designed the product discovery flow to reduce this uncertainty.
Intelligent RFQ & Vendor Communication
Requesting and comparing quotes is one of the most fragmented and time-consuming steps in hospital procurement. We rethought the RFQ flow end-to-end, from how requests are created to how responses are collected and reviewed. By designing a structured, AI-assisted communication layer, we removed the need for manual follow-ups, document wrangling, and side-by-side spreadsheets.
AI-assisted sourcing
Instead of forcing users into manual search and comparison, we structured the experience around AI-assisted sourcing — helping teams explore alternatives within the context of real procurement needs, constraints, and urgency.
The result is a sourcing experience that supports faster, more confident decisions without overwhelming users with options.
Outcomes
AMS AI went from scattered AI ideas to a focused product — AI-assisted sourcing, predictive shortage alerts, automated RFQ flows, and vendor intelligence. The project has raised $1.2M in 2025.
The designed product experience targets 20+ hours saved per person weekly and 85% reduction in logistics time.
