Job description

We are looking for a creative, proactive Social Media Manager to tell the stories of 1991, our programmes and founders through engaging content.

About us

1991 is a Venture Capital Fund and Accelerator that backs early-stage startup founders and helps to fulfill their potential through growth and funding opportunities. 1991 Accelerator prepares high-potential, early-stage founders for global expansion and fundraising through its equity-free investment readiness programs. Since 2022, 1991 Accelerator alumni have collectively raised over $60 million.

Over the past 10 years, we’ve run 40+ programs supporting 250+ startups, 30% of which secured further investment.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Create social media content in Ukrainian and English for Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook, adapting copy and formats to each platform.
  • Film and edit short videos, including interviews, Reels and event coverage for social media.
  • Prepare and launch email campaigns, including newsletters, programme announcements and event invitations.
  • Develop and maintain content calendars aligned with programme timelines and communications priorities.
  • Create visuals and brief designers on materials that require design support.
  • Update content on the 1991 website and programme websites, including programme information, news, events and results.
  • Engage with the 1991 community: respond to comments and messages, share updates and encourage conversations.
  • Work with information partners to distribute announcements, coordinate cross-posting and track publications.
  • Launch and optimise paid campaigns on Meta and LinkedIn, monitoring budgets and results.
  • Prepare regular reports on social media, email campaigns and advertising performance.

This role is a match if you

  • Have 3+ years of experience in social media management, with a portfolio of channels or campaigns you’ve managed.
  • Write clearly in Ukrainian and English, adapting your copy to the brand’s tone of voice.
  • Understand how Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook work, including content formats, paid social campaigns and audience engagement.
  • Know how to use AI tools for content creation and critically review their output.
  • Can manage the full content workflow, from planning and briefs to approvals and publication.
  • Have experience creating basic visuals and editing short videos using Figma, CapCut or similar tools.
  • Can use Meta Business Suite to track performance.
  • Can manage several programme timelines, coordinate with contributors and meet deadlines.
  • Pay attention to detail and take responsibility for the accuracy of published content.
  • Are curious about startups, technology and venture capital, and willing to learn how the ecosystem works.

It would be a plus if you have experience with startup or international programmes, email marketing or communications involving several partner organisations.

We offer

  • A chance to join one of the most exciting teams in Ukraine’s startup ecosystem
  • Work with top-tier partners (EBRD, UK government, Google and others)
  • Involvement in meaningful projects that support Ukraine’s innovation economy
  • Full-time, hybrid work format (preferably Kyiv, with flexibility to discuss alternatives due to security considerations).
  • Office space at Kooperativ
