Platform and website development for eSports startup – 365games

365games is an eSports platform designed to bring gamers together, uniting fans, teams, and sponsors in an immersive online experience. Players can build teams, complete challenges, join sponsored tournaments, and win prizes. The platform's competitive ranking system rewards players with points for completing tasks, inching them closer to cash rewards.

Challenge

The challenge was to provide 365games platform with some product features:

  • Being a global player, it had to be accessible worldwide and speak 6 languages;
  • We needed to craft a daily gaming addition, with the vibe of competition and live interaction between players;
  • The platform servers should be safe, with end-to-end encryption to prevent cyberattacks and data leaks.
  • A marketing website serves as a product showcase, highlighting key advantages and acting as a gateway for user registration.

Strategy

We've adopted a "technical partnership" model for collaboration. The client brings the business ideas, and our technical team translates them into actionable work tasks. This way, the client’s team can stay laser-focused on business strategy without getting bogged down in software analytics or technical implementation. It’s about letting each team do what they do best while creating seamless results.

Implementation

We built an MVP platform to analyze the audience during the early product development stages, pinpoint core needs, and refine hypotheses.

The development was split into two phases:

1. MVP launch with essential features, completed in 5–6 months.

2. Second version, incorporating new features and validated hypotheses from the MVP phase.

This approach ensured rapid deployment while staying flexible for future improvements.

MVP Development

Initially, the client envisioned a "partner platform" where new functions or tournaments would integrate through partner services. However, testing revealed that such integrations would overload the platform.

We suggested developing an in-house tournament system. This solution allows for the creation and management of events, team invitations, match handling, and awarding points and prizes. Such a system is more flexible, and the client can freely manage the tournaments of the gaming platform.

Leaderboard

Our team threw together a leaderboard, hooked up a reward system, and a subscription deal for players to receive more bonuses.

Leaderboard subscription system

The platform has a leaderboard and a subscription system that helps to receive more bonuses in tournaments.

Subscriptions unlock additional benefits, with higher tiers offering more rewards, exclusive tasks, and expanded capabilities, making the gaming experience more dynamic and rewarding for subscribers.

Reward System

The platform offers two types of rewards: basic and additional. Basic rewards are granted to top-ranking players and competition participants.

Additional prizes include:

1. Lucky Drafts — a daily random prize for subscribers.

2. One Dollar Day — A daily $1 prize for players with paid subscriptions.

Server Architecture

For servers to work in each region without drawdowns, a redistribution system is required. We installed the platform on Amazon Web Services servers to make sure the platform is fully reliable, user-friendly, and able to automatically distribute the load to servers worldwide.

Creating a marketing website

We created a separate marketing site to showcase the product’s benefits and streamline the sign-up process, encouraging users to join the platform.

We kept eSports traditions, designing the website, to engage people in the gameplay immediately.

Result

After 6 months of development, the client received a ready-made MVP platform: with thoughtful server logic, basic functions, and a marketing website.

In addition, we added the in-platform and email notification setup according to the client's request. The platform is being tested by esports players, gaming bloggers, and streamers.

Awards

365games earned recognition from the CSS Design Awards, receiving Special Kudos, Best UI Design, Best UX Design, and Best Innovation honors.

Here are some features, which we’re planning to launch in the next version of a product:

1. In-game store for exchanging points for gaming merch.

2. Chat for players.

3. A mobile app, which’ll allow you to use the platform without folding the game on the PC.

4. Micromanagement opportunities for gaming teams, like communication and events for fans.
